Taste of Toulouse

Avis aux gourmands. Comme je vous le disais dans un précédent article, je vais vous faire découvrir aujourd’hui Taste Of Toulouse, une jeune entreprise qui nous fait découvrir ou redécouvrir la ville rose de façon culinaire. 

Pour mieux comprendre l’histoire de Taste Of Toulouse, revenons aux origines. Jessica est une américaine qui a aménagé il y a un an dans notre belle ville. Passionnée par la gastronomie et les bonnes choses de la vie, elle a décidé de se lancer dans l’aventure de l’entreprenariat. Car figurez-vous les amis qu’aux USA, les marchés comme les notre, il en existe très peu. C’est d’ailleurs un peu intimidant pour un anglais ou un américain de parcourir un de nos marchés. Avec toutes ces informations et un stage chez Xavier Fromagerie, une idée a germé et Taste Of Toulouse vu le jour. Depuis quelques mois, par petits groupes de 8 personnes, des touristes du monde entier, des touristes français et même des toulousains découvrent la gastronomie si belle et goûteuse du Sud-Ouest. Pendant 3 ou 4heures, tout dépend du groupe, de l’ambiance du moment et de l’exaltation de Jessica, vous vous baladez au cœur du marché Victor Hugo. Car un de ses buts en créant cette entreprise, c’est avant tout partager son amour des beaux produits mais aussi soutenir les entreprises locales. À travers les visites, Papaix & Fils, Xavier fromagerie ou encore Chai Vincent, des institutions Toulousaines, vous accueilleront pour partager avec vous leur passion et leur région. 

Comptez 70€ par personne pour participer à une des visites gourmandes et attention ce n’est pas tout ! Jessica aimerai organiser des visites gourmandes pour les amoureux du goûter, nous vous tiendrons au courant car actuellement c’est Work In Progress.

Calling all food lovers! Like I said in my last article, today I am going to introduce you to Taste of Toulouse, a young company that helps you discover (or rediscover) Toulouse from a foodie point of view.

To better understand the story of Taste of Toulouse, let’s go back to the beginning: Jessica is an American who moved to our beautiful city a year ago. Passionate about gastronomic food and all tasty things in life, she decided to create her own business. You might be surprised, but local markets with fresh food are actually quite rare in the US, which means it’s a bit intimidating for an American or English speaking tourist to know where to start with French farmers’ markets. Knowing this (and after a workshop at the cheese monger Chez Xavier), an idea started to form, and Taste of Toulouse was born. For a few months now, groups of no more than 8 people have a chance to discover the rich gastronomic tradition of the French South-West, whether they be French or foreigners. The tour lasts three to four hours depending on the participants, the market ambiance, and Jessica’s inspiration of the day, and takes you all around the Victor Hugo market. One of Jessica’s main goals with creating this private tour company is to share her love of good food but also support local businesses and producers. Whether bakers, cheese mongers, or wine sellers, the businesses will open their arms to share their passion and knowledge of local food traditions.

Expect 70€ per person for a tasting tour, but that’s not the only thing Jessica offers! She is working on additional tours, such as a sweet-tooth themed tour.
